Yasutomo Bokuju
liquid Japanese printmaking ink
Carbon black ink is used for sumi-e painting, calligraphy and Moku Hanga (Japanese style wood block) printmaking. Thinning with water creates a wide range of gray tones, from the deepest blacks to delicate silvery washes.
Vermilion ink is traditionally used to print the hanko, or personal seal, that has been carved into the block. Like the black Bokuju, it can also be used for sumi-e painting and calligraphy.
After use, be sure to wash your brushes immediately to avoid clogging and permanent damage.
Conforms to ASTM D 4236.
