Paper colors will depend on your monitor. To see accurate colors, we recommend a Washi Sample Book.
This group of Washi includes our finest printmaking papers. They are all entirely handmade, with deckle edges on all four sides. The papers are medium to heavy weight, and strong enough to easily withstand multiple printings from multiple blocks. The colors range from white to natural, and give back sharp, clear colors when printed. They are of high fiber content, tear beautifully, and all are acid free.
Different printing papers can be combined to qualify for the quantity discounts.
Paper is shipped rolled. If you prefer that we ship it flat, tell us in the box marked "Special Instructions" in the Shopping Cart. With few exceptions, shipping fees will be substantially higher because of the size of the package. Please let us know if you would like to know these fees before we ship.
Nishinouchi - Natural 29.25" x 41.75"
A great paper with a subtly brushed texture and the translucency of more fragile papers, Nishinouchi is surprisingly strong and able to withstand repeated printings from multiple blocks. The texture and natural warm color of the paper adds liveliness to a print while giving back sharp, crisp colors from water- or oil- based inks. Tears exceptionally well. Ideal for woodblock, linocut, monotype and book arts. Sized, handmade (four deckle edges) |

Kizuki Hanga - Off-White 27" x 40.5"
An exceptionally low price for a 100% Kozo paper of this weight. Ideal for multiple block prints that require many rubbings, Kizuki Hanga's weight and heavy body make it easy to lay full-size dampened sheets on the block. The slightly off-white shade creates an excellent background for sharp, luminous, clear colors from printing inks. While it can be used for any Western style of printmaking, Kizuki Hanga is intended for the serious printmaker using water-based inks and Japanese techniques. Sized, handmade (four deckle edges) |
