We are thrilled to have Mary Brodbeck as our cover artist for the McClain\u2019s 2017 Catalog with her Moku Hanga print titled \u201cBlanket\u201d. While working on her MFA from Western Michigan University, Mary traveled to Japan to study Moku Hanga under \u00a0Yoshisuke Funasaka. Mary is an active Moku Hanga instructor and lecturer and in 2014 she released her beautiful award-winning documentary film \u201cBecoming Made\u201d about her relationship with the art form.To see more of Mary\u2019s work and also a preview of her film \u201cBecoming Made\u201d, visit her website<\/a><\/div>\n

International Mokuhanga Conference 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

The third International Mokuhanga Conference (IMC) 2017 is coming up quickly, from September 28 \u2013 October 1st<\/sup>. Registration is open now and the conference will be held primarily at the University of Hawai\u2019i Manoa in Honolulu, Oahu with a satellite location at the Donkey Mill Art Center on the Big Island of Hawai\u2019i.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe conference will be an opportunity to bring Mokuhanga out of Japan and into the global community, to locate it within a bigger picture and to further discover the Beauty of Mokuhanga, its discipline and sensibility.\u201d \u2013 IMC2017<\/p>\n
