As some of you may have noticed, the holiday season is upon us. If you are searching for the right gift for a fellow printmaker, look no further, as we have Gift Certificates<\/a> available in any amount.<\/p>\n

McClain’s also has some really excellent supplies for creating your own handcrafted gift cards. Included below are some brief instructions and a list of the supplies you’ll need.<\/p>\n

Carve your design into a 4″x6″ block of Shina<\/a> or draw it into a Scratch Foam<\/a> plate.<\/p>\n

Step 2:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Grab some Akua Kolor<\/a>, Caligo Relief Ink<\/a>, Akua Intaglio<\/a> inks or an Akua Intaglio Intro Set.<\/a> All of these inks wash up with soap and water.<\/p>\n

If you like working with oil based ink then get a jar or two of the always excellent Gamblin Relief Ink<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Use an Ink Knife<\/a> to spread out some ink,\u00a0 and then roll it on your block with a Speedball Brayer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Step 3:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Place a Washi Postcard or Foldable Card<\/a> on top of your block, and rub away with your favorite Baren<\/a> or wooden spoon.<\/p>\n
